A Practical Gym and Overnight Packing Checklist

A Practical Gym and Overnight Packing Checklist

A gym bag or overnight bag works best when each item has a simple job. Before you pack, think through the routine you expect to have away from home: showering after a workout, removing makeup before bed or washing at a hotel sink. Then take only the toiletries and accessories you expect to use.

What to pack

  • Your usual cleanser or makeup remover, in the format and quantity you plan to use.
  • Any skincare products you use after cleansing.
  • A separate dry pouch or clean section of the bag for a dry face-towel pack.
  • A small bag or access to a bin for used items.

Count the uses, not the days

One day away can include more than one routine. A workout followed by an evening routine may mean two uses, while a short stay may mean one. Count the occasions you expect to use a towel, then choose a compact pack that gives you enough without moving the products from your home setup.

The Whistle Travel Pack contains 10 single-use towels in a compact pack. Keep the pack dry until you need it. A towel can be used dry to pat away water, or wet with your own cleanser or makeup remover, following that product’s directions.

After the routine

Put a used Whistle towel in a bin and do not flush it. Close up remaining toiletries before returning them to the bag, and let reusable items follow their own care instructions once you are home.
